I know, I know

I know I said I had a special post to celebrate 300 page views in less than a month... And I do. But it's not done yet. I had to work in the new Brooke Shields movie yesterday and it was a long shoot. Left the house at 8:30 yesterday morning and didn't get home until almost 3 THIS MORNING!!! That was by far the longest basketball game EVER!!

But don't worry guys... I will put up the post soon. I actually have a few posts that I want to do. So just hang in there. I will be posting a lot this week!! =)

Peace and Love.

A 4 day adventure...

This weekend was INSANE!!! A 5 day, non-stop weekend, complete with a Twilight party, shopping with my little cousin, and bubbles... I was totally exhausted by the time I got home yesterday!

Saturday was my friend's Twilight themed slumber party... For which I made a cake, chocolate wildflowers, and both vampire and werewolf themed chocolate dipped strawberries!!! I was pretty domesticated.. and pretty proud of myself!!

My cake didn't come out as cute as I was hoping it would... But we still ate it. I even made the icing from scratch (heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and red food coloring)!! And the white "hearts" on the bottom are strawberries that I cut in half and covered with white chocolate. See.. I was domesticated!! Ha.

I did that cake on Friday night.

Saturday, I had a lot of time to kill so I decided to make some chocolate. When I was growing up, my grandmother and I would make chocolate candies for christmas. We would melt the chocolate down in her microwave and pour it into molds, freeze them for a few minutes, then take them out and decorate them. It was one of my favorite things we did every year.

I'm guessing when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a year and a half ago (she has since then passed away) or maybe even before, she gave my mom the molds we use to use. We have all kinds of molds.. I know that some are them are in fact from my grandmother, but some of them... well let's just say, I am glad I washed them first, because I have no idea where they came from. But we did have a wildflower mold. So I made chocolate wildflowers, using the same method I use to do with my grandmother.

I also had strawberries left. Which led to the vampire and werewolf themed strawberries. The vampire ones were milk chocolate and white chocolate mixed with some white-ish, glittery sprinkles on them; the werewolf ones were milk chocolate dusted with some brown sugar.

The picture to the right is one of my hand after finishing the werewolf strawberries.. I was covered in it!!

The party was so much fun!! I don't actually have any pictures from the party.. That's because we watched all four movies in one night. So let's skip on to Sunday.

I shared a bed with the best friend at the slumber party. When we woke up that morning, it was FREEZING!!! Which is stupid because it had been almost 80 degrees outside all week and we had been wearing shorts... In February!! But then it decided to get cold. Fortunately for me, I hardly ever wear shorts.. I almost always wear jeans. And I had packed these in my bag... I also had a few things in my car still from a recent movie job, so I just grabbed my long sleeved t-shirt to throw under my VIM (Very Important Monkey) shirt from the 100 Monkeys tour last summer... Toasty warm!! I am so glad I don't clean out my car sometimes.

After getting dressed, we hit the IHOP... mmmmmm. Pancakes. Then back to the house to play Twilight trivia games.

My friends and I had gone get my little cousin before heading to IHOP, so when we left... we became really bored. So bored, in fact, that we went to the mall. And if y'all knew this mall, y'all would understand why we have to be so bored to actually go there. We shopped at the FYE and a few other stores before we saw this...

A BABY DINOSAUR!!! Not really.. It's some sort of salamander or something. This picture isn't a good one of it, but you can get the main idea. They are so ugly that they are cute... I almost bought one and named it Jasper. I think that Jasper would be an awesome pet name!!

Even if this guy's name is Jasper. And people make fun of me. I am going to get a something and name it Jasper. But now I am thinking Jasper should be a GUINEA PIG!! The guinea pigs come in later though... Monday to be exact. Y'all just don't know how bored we really get. And how easily.

My cousin and I left the mall empty handed.. as much as I wanted Jasper (I had picked him out and everything... of course this is also before I decided he should, and probably will, be a guinea pig), I couldn't bring myself to buy him. My mom would have killed me and then killed him if I would have. So Jasper has to go find someone else to love him...

We were still bored, so we headed to Target... I LOVE Target. They have such cute clothes and stuff there. Of course, we didn't buy anything there either. This only lasted about 30 minutes.

I don't even remember how we got in contact with her mom and dad (my aunt and uncle). I just remember my cousin saying to go to the gas station by their house so her mom could bring us the house keys.. and somewhere in there, her dad gave us 100 dollars for a sushi dinner.. She's 12, I mind you. And they gave us 100 dollars for dinner. I love my family!

Here she is with the money.. And by the end of it, we had none left. Because the bill was 92 dollars (after my cousin and I ate... and ordered to go orders for her parents) and I left the rest for a tip.

The total for the whole meal, including our after dinner ice cream run? 110 dollars. Nice, huh?

The next morning, I woke up to find a text from the friend who had the Twilight themed party.. She was going pick up her goddaughter and wanted us to go get lunch with them. So we got more money from my cousin's mom and headed to Olive Garden.

I had soup and salad.. She had spaghetti. Which surprised me.. she is usually a mac and cheese girl. But we still had fun and got to meet an adorable little four year old!

Again.. My cousin and I got really bored. So we went shopping. And this is where the guinea pigs come in. I have no idea what made us start talking about those, but before we knew it, we were at Pets Mart. And I decided that Jasper should be a guinea pig. A blonde guinea pig. My friend and I were texting at this point... I told her that I wanted a guinea pig named Jasper. She suggested that he should be a cockatoo instead (inside joke), but I can't afford a cockatoo. And they live too long. So a guinea pig is what I shall get. Eventually.

Shopping got boring too. So... Chuck E. Cheese anyone? Yea.. we went there. And since there isn't much to say about the next few pictures... This will be quick and dirty...

She looks happy, doesn't she?
Fun right? This also lasted about 30 minutes, before we decided this was lame and bailed. For coffee.

We both got large white chocolate mochas.. And attempted to write. The coffee was amazing. The writing? Not so much.

I tried to work. I really did. But nothing I wrote sounded good. So I made a paper airplane out of my short story.. And my cousin bit it.

She also graffitied my coffee cup. Thanks a lot. But she does know me really well. So I found it pretty funny.

After coffee and an unsuccessful writing session, we decided that what the world needed was more bubbles. And hula hoops. So we went to walmart for bubbles.. we already had a hula hoop.

Here is my little cousin blowing bubbles. We were extremely bored so we opened the car doors on my car and cranked some tunes.. which included 100 Monkeys, Mechanical People, Taylor Swift, and some other things. We even did some zumba in her driveway!!

This weekend was crazy.. but also very fun!! Lots of adventures!! And plenty more to come!!

Peace and Love!

Since you guys have been so sweet...

Since you guys have been so sweet
And have gotten me to 200 page views in 16 days...

I am going to do another 100 Monkeys post...

Before last tour,
the best friend and I were discussing
what we should get the guys...
I had the idea to make each of them "Tour Survival Kits"...
Each guy got a box, which we painted black...
They had their names on them...
So Jackson's said JACKSON.. and so on...

We filled each of the guys' boxes with things for them to do...
Silly string, juggling balls, brain teasers..
You name it, those guys got it...
Thank goodness for the Dollar Tree... Where everything is a dollar!

This was around the time that Jackson
Started answering his fan's tweets..
For those fans who actually remember that...

I had been trying to get him to answer my tweets,
but with no luck...
So I decided to try one last time...

And...
He responded!

I guess I enticed him?
Like, "Hey Jackson. You're getting a present."
I mean,
Wouldn't you be interested too?

Of course he completely shocked me...
I was so not ready for him to tweet back...
Wouldn't you be shocked too?

So like the following week...
We saw the guys and gave them their boxes...

I know I have posted this picture before,
but this is us giving Ben G his box...
He was beyond excited...
And I just love the look on his face...

I found out later that Ben took the silly string
And shot Jerad in the butt with it...
And he may or may not have placed the whoopee cushion
In someone's bed...

All the guys were really excited...
Except maybe Jackson...
But who knows with him...
It's Jackson.

But, I still think he is a sweetheart.

Peace and Love.

Valentine's Day, Owls, and Breaking Dawn..

Valentine's Day...
Even the thought makes me shudder...
Maybe that is because for the past two,
I have been totally and completely single...

I mean, yea.
I ended my relationship after 3 and a half years...
I take full responsibility for that...
And I'm not complaining about it...
I am perfectly happy being single...

But the thought of Valentine's Day...
Ewwwww. Commence the shuddering.

This year was better than last year...
Last year, the break up was still new...
And that was a real bummer...
No flowers or cards...
Kind of sucked really...
But this year, I knew what to expect...

Yup.
No flowers or cards...
And no boyfriend...
Which I accepted...
I wasn't going to let it bum me out this year.

Tuesday was just a regular day...
I was late to American Literature class
(had some printer problems before class)...

Followed by Public Relations...
Where we took a few notes, talked about Hooters....
And I met with the teacher about the fundraiser...

Followed by Creative Writing...
It was a workshop day, so we tore classmates' stories to shreds...
But we still got candy!!

And finally, Horror Films...
Where I didn't pay attention
and blogged happy birthday to Ben Graupner instead.

Drove home and chilled in front of the tv...
See? Regular day...

No presents or anything...
And I was okay with it.

Flash forward to yesterday afternoon...
I was on my way home and got called to babysit...
And since I am a poor college student,
I gladly took the job...

When I got to the house,
the six year old was like,
"Come see!"

So I followed her...
And she handed me this...

My little loves (ages 6 and 2) gave me a Valentine!!
And I think that it was the best one... EVER!

Getting the Valentine from the girls made my day...
And maybe made me hate Valentine's Day a little less...
Maybe.

But in advance, not thinking I would get a Valentine...
I bought myself some presents...

First off, the owl purse...
I have a new thing for owls as of lately...
Which is weird because I am usually a monkey lover...
But lately, it's owls...

So. While waiting at Target for Breaking Dawn to be released...
My friend and I went shopping...
And I found this little guy and fell in love!!!

He matches my wallet, which I already had...
So I couldn't pass him up!!!

I also snagged a really cute owl necklace,
which I don't have pictures of.

And last but not least...
Breaking Dawn.
No explanation needed.
Ha.

Peace and Love.

This post is beyond late...

I know this post is late...
I just didn't even think about it last week....

So I want to wish Ben Graupner a very Happy Belated Birthday!!

I'm sorry I forgot, dear.
I hope you had a lot of fun!
And I hope you are looking forward to SBL this year...
Because I will have your birthday presents with me!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, BEN!!!

Peace and Love.

Weekly update..

Hey guys...
I know that I haven't been around for the past few days...
But I am back!! (at least until my class is over)

I am currently sitting in my horror films class..
I don't know what made me take a horror film class..
I hate horror.. (I am such a damn chicken!!)
But I am in this class..

Today we are finishing a movie called "Cat People"...
(I'm sitting in the back.. So I am getting away with this)
This movie is not really all that scary.. At least not YET...
I do like it though.. So if you actually like these sorts of movies,
you can get "Cat People" on Amazon Instant Video for a few bucks...

Just because I am bored and I miss these guys...
This is another picture from Peaches Records, December 2010...
I love Jackson's face!!!
He looks like he has seen the face of God or something...
Silly, Jackson.

Well... I am off for now...
Will try to post when I get home later...

Peace and Love.
<3

P.S. I have been trying to turn Jackson or Ben G into a cat..
It isn't as easy as one would think!!! lol

The first movie I was ever in..

21 Jump Street
(video from YouTube)

This is the first movie that I ever got hired to be part of.
I sent in my application just for the fun of it;
I really thought that I wouldn't get it.
Like they would call me and say
"Thanks but no thanks."
I didn't think I had "the look" to be in movies;
I mean, I am no stunning beauty.
My nose is too big and my smile is AWFUL!!
So I was like,
"They will never hire me."

Boy, was I wrong.

They called me back in about three hours and said,
"We would like to hire you of two days as a high school student.
Are you still interested in working for this movie?"
I was shocked.
But I was like, "HELL YES!"

Of course, I had to call both my parents at work!
No one in my family had ever done anything like this before;
they were stoked!

(This came a at time of my life when I really needed something;
my grandmother, who everyone says I look like, had just passed away
from pancreatic cancer. And I was going through rough time.
I was very close to her. And I wanted nothing more than to call her with the news.
But I knew that she had arranged this for me, wherever she is;
I know she is still with me and she is guiding me.)

My parents decided that I shouldn't be driving to New Orleans
each morning of the shoot (they have since changed their minds),
so they decided to get a hotel room for my mom and me while I worked
just outside of New Orleans.
That made the commute much easier.
Driving to New Orleans form my home in the morning is a kind of a pain in my butt!
(I now do the drive for other movies.. the worse being a 5:30 am call time about 2 and a half hours away from home!)

It sucks sometimes.
The call times, I mean.
(For those of you who don't know what a "call time" is..
It is the time that an actor or actress has to be on set and checked in.)
Usually mine are about 5 am or so..
But for my first movie, they were around 7 or 7:30 am.

When you first get to set,
they cross your name off the list and hand you a stack of paper work.
It is about three or four pages of stuff you have to fill out so you can get paid.
They also feed you "breakfast".
(I put it in quotations because it is the "breakfast" is sometimes questionable.)

Hair, make-up, and wardrobe.
Hair and makeup were a breeze.
The make-up lady said I looked fine;
the hair guy just pinned up my curls and made them look better.
(My hair was really long back then.. it's really short now.)

Wardrobe wasn't bad either.
They just put me in a small tank top.
I wear a large tank top.
I DO HAVE BOOBS.

We didn't get to film all day.
We played coke pong using cups from breakfast.
We also played some other games.
WE STIIL GOT PAID!!

The next day was about the same.
We had a wardrobe change.
And I got to film.

I didn't film for very long;
maybe ten minutes.
And it wasn't with Channing Tatum or Jonah Hill..
It was with Rob Riggle (I believe).
He plays a coach in the movie and is watching a production of
Peter Pan in the scene I was in
He yelled a bunch of "bad words" and threw chips everywhere,
including in my hair.

But that was the end of it.
Very short time filming on that movie.
(Things have changed since then.. I film all day when I go on set now!)

They took us back to holding and told us to change back into our first changes.
I pulled on the tank that they gave me to wear..
AND...
RIP!!!!!!

The lace on the top of the tank ripped.
That's what they get for trying to put my boobs in a small shirt!!!
Haha.

Oh... There was also this guy who had like a HUGE CRUSH ON ME...
He followed me around for almost two days until I told him
(as nice as I could by that point)
TO LEAVE ME THE F***K ALONE!!!

But that is another story.

Peace and Love.
<3

So I guess..

Congratulations are in order for Mr. Jackson Rathbone..
Rumors today have started circulating that Jackson, along with his girlfriend Sheila,
are expecting their first child in the next few months!

If it's true, Jackson, then congrats darlin'!
I always knew you would make a great daddy!
And I hope your baby is as beautiful and as sweet as you!

Congrats Jackson and Sheila!

Peace and Love!

So, since I mentioned it on the "Hollywood People" page..

I guess I should mention
the band 100 Monkeys...

This is a picture from last summer's tour.
(L to R: Uncle Larry, Ben Graupner, Me, Jackson Rathbone, Jerad Anderson, and Ben Johnson.) Silly Ben G closed his eyes right when Lani (their publicist/manager/everything person) took the picture!

The guys all live in LA. They are also based out
of LA.

The guys are all really, very sweet!

Meet the guys of 100 Monkeys:

Jerad Anderson:
Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keys, Backup Vocals

I don't really know Jerad too well.. Most of the shows I have been too, Jerad was not in attendance.
However... There is one funny story that happened between Jerad and I.

After a big show near my home, my best friend and I were in the line waiting to get the guys' autographs.
After waiting in the line for a while,
the guys came out and sat down to start signing autographs. I didn't realized it at the time, but Jackson was the first one at the table.
Usually, nothing freaks me out, but he did. I hadn't met him yet-- though I had been around him a few
times.

So eventually we got to our turn at the table. Jackson, being the Southern gentleman that he is, said, "Hey, darlin'" as I got to him.

Talk about major freak out. No I didn't scream at him. I didn't pass out. I did however look at his eyes. Should have NEVER done that. The only thing I could say to him was, "How are you?"
Total dork move, right? But he was totally sweet about it. "I'm doing good," he said. And with a smile, he passed my CD down to the next guy.. Jerad.

Well, I was still freaking out (thanks a lot Jackson!) when I got to Jerad. So I barely heard him when he looked at me with a sweet smile and said, "You have killer eyes." You see.. my mom had done my makeup before I left the house that night. I knew I looked killer-- fierce almost-- but I couldn't think straight after my encounter with Jackson not five seconds before. I believe I mumbled a "Thank You" to Jerad, but I still to this day have no idea if I did or not.

Ben Johnson:
Drums, Bass, Guitar, Keys, Vocals

Again.. This is another one of the guys that I don't know very well. Haven't actually talked to him at any length-- he is the "quite" monkey.

Uncle Larry:

Percussions, Flute, Bass, Keys, Saxophone, Vocals

Uncle Larry is the oldest-- and WISEST-- monkey of the guys. He was born in 1953 and is truly a sweet man. He is very grateful for all his fans; when we go "on tour" for a few days (meaning we go to four shows in four days... and in four different cities), he thanks us for being so supportive. He also has a rep for kissing girls' hands (has happened to me). Also loves candy and will kiss your hand repeatedly if you bring him some; just ask my best friend!

The guys at a acoustic set
Peaches Records
2010

Ben Graupner:
Keys, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Percussion, Trumpet, Vocals

This boy is CRAZY!!! Always jumping around during shows-- but boy, can he put on a show!!
Total sweetheart and he LOVES HUGS!!

Last year for his birthday, a few friends and I went to a small show for his other band that he is in, called Mechanical People. It was one of their very first shows-- maybe even their first one ever, I can't remember-- and my friends and I decided that he deserved some birthday shots!

My friend went over to the bar and got shots for all of us, including the guys from the band. She got them all Jameson whiskey (if you know these guys, you know how they like their Jameson!) I had a lemon drop martini shot-- just like the Carrie Underwood song "Before He Cheats".. I can't shoot whiskey! Haha!

This was also my first ever shot! So I was
pretty proud of myself-- that is until I actually took the shot!
I was like, "Damn! That hurt!" and almost chocked my shot all over Ben! But I sucked it up.. and realized that I still had half a shot left in my cup!

I finished that thing before anyone actually noticed!

That is only one of the stories about the encounters between Ben that I.. I have actually been around him more-- he was always here for the small shows.

The best friend and I giving Ben a present at the street team party (Summer, 2011). He got silly string, which I found out he shot at Jerad's butt! He also got a whoopee cushion-- which he may or may not have put in Jackson's bed that night!

Ben was not expecting a present; in fact, we surprised all the guys with the hand painted boxes, complete with their individual names on the lid along with guitar playing monkeys. "Tour Survival Kits" we called them. We loaded each guy up with tons of presents: silly string, candy, and each guy got something special, that was just for them in their boxes.

Nothing like making some very happy monkeys!

The guys at the end of a show
Dallas, 2011

Jackson Rathbone:
Guitar, Vocals, Bass, Drums Keys, Trumpet, Mandolin, Harmonica

Another CRAZY boy!! But he is also a giant sweetheart!

Well, I have already told y'all the story about the first time I met him.. So I can't tell that story again. But I haven't told y'all this one..

After a small show, Jackson felt brave enough to actually float around the bar with Ben and Ben for a few drinks. That was different because the previous shows that had been at the same venue had been very big, so Jackson (along with the guys that were with him) would take off after every show; it was nice to see Jackson socializing with his fans, proving that he really does love his fans, no matter how shy and/or skittish he may seem.

My best friend and I talked to Jackson several times that night; she got him to call some friends in Texas, which he happily obliged to, much to our surprise; he also completely freaked our friend out when she answered the phone! She was not expecting to hear Jackson's voice on the other end of the call!

So later, after they played the set, I asked Jackson if he could sign some autographs for the same friend in Texas. He said he would, but his hands were full. "I'll be back," he told me as he turned and went through the back door of the bar, his arms load down with the band's gear. I seriously doubted that he would come back; don't count your chickens before the hatch right?

Well, Mr. Rathbone is full of surprises, I guess. He did come back to me to sign the autographs; he even personalized them with the girls' names on them!

Earlier in the night, Jackson had been talking to a girl. They seems to hit it off, but I guess not. Jackson walked the girl back to her car after he had finished the show; her car was about a block away, I think. This was very nice of him since it was unusually cold that night (so if you are reading this, Jackson, that was very sweet of you).

While Jackson was walking the girl back to her car, I was back in the bar talking to Ben J. I had asked Ben a question that he couldn't answer and said I would be better off talking to Jackson. I asked if he knew where Jackson was, but he didn't. We both looked; no Jackson to be found. Within a few minutes, Jackson came back.

After he had come back, I debated with myself if I really wanted to go up to him. Even after seeing him almost a dozen times, he still had the ability to star struck me. I did get my chance to talk to him though.

He walked past me and noticed me looking at him, so he stopped. "Can I ask you a question?" I asked; I was even surprised at myself to be able to keep myself so calm around him. "Sure, darlin'."

I talked to him about screenwriting; I had been wanting to start writing movies but had no idea on how to start. Jackson gave me some awesome advice; he told me to watch my favorite movie very slowly and to write down everything I saw, exactly as I saw it, describing everything about the set, the characters, and the dialogue. This exercise really helped me (and feel free to use this advice). We talked for a few more minutes before; I felt bad because he couldn't hear me and I had to talk into his ear. So I asked if he would take a picture with me.

This is my picture from that night. That was a very fun night. And I know I am very thankful to Jackson for giving me awesome advice. He really helped me and the screenwriting process became a lot more clearer. So... Thanks for that, Jackson!

That's all I really have to say about these guys.. They are all really sweet guys who just love to make music..

Peace and Love.

I found this hilarious..

Sofa Sox commercial
(from YouTube)

My question is..
What the heck is this?
Sofa Sox?
Seriously?

My next question is..
Do any of y'all own one?
What is the point of it?
And what made you by one?

My opinion on this "Sofa Sox" thing:
I really thought this was one of those
commercials that they put a really
stupid idea on then say..
"Is this a stupid idea?
Would you like to get paid to
tell them that?"
(You know the commercials.)
But then I realized that this commercial was for real.
Which just shocked me.
Seriously.
Sofa Sox?
Whatever happened to regular socks and a blanket?

I must admit..
I do have a pink Snuggie.
I said I would never buy one.
But I did.
I never use it, however.
It usually doesn't get cold enough where I live.

But "Sofa Sox"?
Way to try to ride someone's coat tails...

Just my opinion, however.
No hard feelings.
And if you do own one, I hope you enjoy your "Sofa Sox".
I just think it is absolutely hilarious.

And for even more laughs, check out the official website:

What happens when 300 background extras are stuck on a movie set for 16+ hours?

Answer:
We put shirts on our heads
and
take crazy pictures!!!

This picture was taken this past Saturday...
These are two of the girls I hung around
in between takes with...
All three of us had to be on set by 7:30 am
and this picture was taken around
9 that night or so...
LONG DAY!!!

We finally got to leave around 10:45
that night and it was FREEZING!!!

On a side note..
I was in a bus with Will Ferrell...
less than a foot away from him!!!

Wasn't the first time THAT happened.
But that's another story.

Peace and Love.
